I'm debating on either upgrading the M16 or just getting another rifle and upgrading that one. I'm thinking something for CQB, like yes, an M4 is on the list, a G36C, an MP7, or an MP5. I'm leaning towards an M4.

Lol no, that's pretty damn expensive. My nice guitar is ~$1,000, with new pickups at ~$100 each. That's like $1,200, for a good guitar. The 6K comes from the fancy buttons and finish. I don't really need that much flash or electronics on my guitars, but it sure as hell is pretty to look at!

SOPMODs can be equipped to about any weapon not only the M4A1. Since M4A1 is the most reliable assault rifle out there and their fully customizable. Thats why they have many variants.
And also M4A1 is one of the most lightest gun that you can equip with SOPMOD.
